The growth process through the years finds us grabbing hold of “false lights” in order to find our way in life. The true light within us has actually been starved, that is, the true light of Jesus’ love and truth. Because it rarely receives it’s food to grow, the true light becomes shrouded with layer upon layer of lies that fuels the false light. We need light to live, so if we don’t receive the true light, we go out and find the false lights. Also, our culture, our friends, our family, and even our religious customs push the false lights upon us.
So the path to freedom will entail a direct initiative from the hand of God to distill the false lights. They may be taken out all at once, or they may be slowly drained to the point of barely being light at all. “What is this?” the soul exclaims, “I cannot see. I cannot feel love. I am losing all that has given me purpose and meaning in life!”
Soon darkness is upon the soul. In darkness the soul is forced to examine its basic reason for existence. “Who am I?” “Why am I here?” Silence perhaps at first, but then something happens. A flicker of light shines in the darkness. It is a pure light, a beautiful light, something the soul has never seen before. “What is this?” the soul exclaims. The light begins to warm something deep, deep down within the solemn soul. Down it goes, piercing through the layers of falseness, not stopping until it reaches the very center of the individual’s heart. Then it speaks a word, a Living Word. Love pours forth from the heart as it begins to feel the true light that has been in this individual for years, only they didn’t know it because it had been so starved. Truth pours forth revealing to this soul their true identity, answering their questions they had previously cried out
in desperation.
“You are a child of God, dearly and deeply loved. You are beautiful to Me, because I created you in My image. And I am the Sovereign God, Creator of the universe, your Loving Father. I hand picked you for purposes determined only by Me, for purposes only you would fulfill. There is no one like you in all of My Creation. I counseled within My own will about your unique and glorious calling.” (Eph. 1:11) “I am yours, your Abba Father, and I want to pour My light into the center of your being where My true light has been in you since birth, for you were created in My image. My light will speak truth to all the lies you have grown up embracing. My light will dispel any desire left within you for the false lights that you have previously depended upon for your meaning and worth. My light will pour forth love within every fiber of your being, so you can do what you were created to do, love Me. For I created you for love and fellowship with Me. What joy, My child, awaits you!”
This is why you are here! Let My light pour forth in you all the love and truth you have been starving for. Let it fill you up, My friend, to the measure of all My fullness. This is My offer to you now. For I am love. I want to draw you deeper and higher into My love. So much awaits you!
