Resist the surface. Dwell in the depths. That means you must resist busyness, resist “activity,” resist focusing on needs — both your own and those of many others.
I am the Need-Meeter, and I will give to you abundantly more than you can imagine … if you will only allow Me. But first you must, at all costs, resist the surface.
I am calling you into the depths, for this is where I am waiting to give you more. This is where I empower you to go out. And once I have empowered you, I send you out to do what I came to do. Your work will not resemble busyness, nor will it be burdensome. It will carry My authority to heal and to set the captives free.
I empower only those who are resolute in seeking Me first. Those who forsake their self to Me, who forsake the “good” for the best, who forsake the temptations of the flesh, will find Me whom they seek.
But your seeking must not only be whole-hearted, it must have an element of forcefulness about it. I told you that, from the beginning, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and that forceful men and women lay hold of it. (Matthew 11:12). What do you think this means? Do you have any idea what resistance you will meet when you set out to go deep in Me? And do not make the mistake of thinking that “forceful” has to do with your strength or your personality. The weakest saint can lay claim to My kingdom more forcefully and effectively than some of the strongest ones out there. (Philippians 3:7-8).
“Forceful” implies a resoluteness that refuses to look aside or within, but rather, aggressively fixes its eyes upon Me in the midst of all the distractions that are thrown upon it. Self-love, the manipulations of others, and the clever schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-20) will keep you in a whirlwind if you do not take an aggressive stand with your will (Ephesians 6). I ache for you when you get caught up on the surface.
You must be like the man who found a treasure hidden in a field. In his joy he hid it again, went and sold everything he had, and bought the field. It was his joy that led him to give up everything for the sake of the hidden treasure. (Matthew 13:44).
I promise you this joy, if you will open the door on which I knock. It is deep within you, and only those with the eyes of their heart open can even hear My voice calling. I am searching to and fro across the earth for friends who will carry out My commands, but it will only be done by dwelling in the depths where I am.
I am calling you to Me. Do not forsake My voice. Do not forfeit My love.
